In Episode 63 of STR Data Lab, Jamie Lane, Chief Economist at AirDNA, welcomes Michael Goldin, co-host of Good Morning Hospitality and a seasoned professional in the hospitality space. Michael discusses his journey in the vacation rental industry, starting with Rented and NoiseAware to now the Co-Founder of Nook and Storied Collection as well as an advisor to many different companies. His current focus on unique hospitality niches.

Golden talks about the creation of ‘Storied’, a co-branded collection of Castle and Manor homes catering to luxury retreat experiences. He describes Storied Collective as a soft brand type company which is the scale of a hard brand like Marriott and Hyatt but without telling their properties what to do. Their goal has been to take a market that hasn’t had professional hospitality before and help professionalize it a little bit more. Over the last year they’ve been able to add 12-14 properties to their portfolio and are continuing to grow.

Michael gives insights into his next venture ‘Nook’, a high-end outdoor hospitality brand that offers luxury experiences closer to nature. He also shares his views on the convergence of hotel and short term rental industries and discusses how branding can add value to niche categories and change the traveler experience.
