A Journey into Coffee and that Wider Purpose with Jonathan Nalywaiko of Campers Coffee

Today we talk to Jonathan Nalywaiko of Campers Coffee in Olympia, Washington.  Jonathan is the founder of Campers Coffee but is also an army veteran and a pastor of 15 years.  Once Jonathan finished as a pastor, he started City Campers, an outreach programme helping homeless people through addiction and mental illness issues.

Jonathan got into coffee roasting at home to support the events they attended and it has grown from there into a full roastery and a small cafe operation and continues to use this to develop the community connection that Jonathan and Campers Coffee has started. In this episode;

  • We chat about some of Jonathan’s early adventures in learning how to roast;
  • Growth plans for the next 12 months and how he plans to expand beyond his roastery cafe, and;
  • The challenges of sourcing equipment and getting his coffee shop set up through the pandemic;

And so much more.
